Cooking is just as creative and imaginative an activity as a drawing, or wood carving or music. And cooking draws upon your every talent; and science, mathematics, energy, history, and experience. – Julia Child

Kids Kitchen Oasis –Summer Food &  STEAM Lab is a garden to table summer experience for New Haven area kids ages 7- 13. Students engage daily in the multifaceted nature of food from seed to waste through activities like sprouting seeds, nature observational walks, tending to a garden, harvest food grown from our own hands, doing food “science” experiments, painting still lives of our vegetables, and creating food memory books. Kids Kitchen Oasis –Summer Food &  STEAM Lab teaches cooking in an interdisciplinary approach using food as a catalyst to teach about all aspects of life. An investment in teaching your child to cook sets a foundation for them to nourish and nurture themselves forever, those they care about and the earth that feeds them.
